Sofimac : Thirty years of success !

Since its formation in 1977, Sofimac has focused on private equity for small and medium-sized companies currently located mainly in the south-east and the center of France (Centre, Auvergne, Rhône-Alpes, Limousin and Provence/Alpes/Cote d'Azur regions) and in the future in Italy and Switzerland.

Sofimac was one of the first French companies to exercise the business of development capital on a regional basis. Its asset management company Sofimac Partners currently manages assets worth nearly €110m with 17 employees, and has, via its various investment vehicles, a portfolio of 100 companies operating in a wide variety of industries. Sofimac Partners invests in nearly 10 companies per year. It is supported by shareholders that include three institutional sponsors (CDC Entreprises, Crédit Agricole Centre France and Caisse d'Epargne Auvergne Limousin), as well as Michelin.

Seed financing, venture capital, development capital and buy-ins/buy-outs (LBOs, MBOs, OBOs) are the various businesses conducted by a team of multi-disciplinary investors comprising financial analysts and engineers. Under the stewardship of Pascal Voulton, who has been Chairman of the Management Board of Sofimac Partners since 2004, the fund managers operate from a single unit, the asset management company Sofimac Partners, which is responsible for raising funds, managing the assets and keeping track of the various investment funds.

“We are an asset management company with a presence in every segment of the private equity industry, in a geographical area that we know well and where we are firmly entrenched. Thanks to the energy of men and women – investors, experts and partners – bent on growing our portfolio companies, we intend to become one of the leading regional private equity firms in France within the next four years.”
